Very confident
Quaint, historic eatery with local flavor, good, tasty dishes, beautiful furnishings, friendly service. Recommended not only for tourists.
Great little restaurant, very cozy and quirky. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is just first class
Nothing special, except for the entourage. Sausages from bags, aluminum gnawed spoons, 3yk cleanliness.
Very traditional fornitures and very traditional food. The staff is kind and the food cheap. But they accept only cash
Tasty and very filling food. Really enjoyed!
Old German style restaurant. Food is not good, prices are above average. Waiter has to wait a long time
Good home cooking and a rustic, funny interior. Lots of sayings to read. The food tasted good.
Nothing to complain about, Not a gourmet restaurant but open-minded, friendly and even inexpensive
Didn't even know that Frankfurt offers something local heim
I can't understand some nagging. For 12.50 euros I had a sauerbraten with red cabbage and dumplings, which I liked very much. The service was very friendly and courteous. Sometimes you have to wonder what people eat at home. I would visit this house again on my next visit to Frankfurt
You feel the authenticity in the place and the food. The taste is okay, the vice is nice. The quantity is a bit small. You would enjoy it though.
Haus Wertheym is a very impressive old half-timbered house in Frankfurt's city center. It is one of the oldest, perhaps even the oldest, houses in town. Nowadays it houses a pub, a cafe and an ice cream parlor.
2 boiled eggs and bland boiled potatoes will set you back €10, ok if you're a carnivore I guess.
I have never seen such dull and expensive food. No flavor at all. Apple wine also seemed to be drinking salt water. The service is also very bad. The woman who attends is very unfriendly. The cook I think was Indian. My dish looked more like Indian food, but with no flavor at all. I even think of seasoning there was black pepper. The salad that came with a horrible appearance. A pity, as the atmosphere outside looked very good. I don't recommend eating at this restaurant.
Completely unsuitable for vegetarians. The building is said to date from the 15th century, during which time the owners got stuck.
I had roulades, which were not traditional but rather industrial. Looks bad and taste not good. The waiter brought everything we asked for, but had little motivation. I can't recommend it.
Yes quite nice. But when it came to the price-performance ratio, I was happy to have been invited.
I've ordered fish and a salad, both looked like were cooked the day before. Disappointed. After all I was told that I cannot pay by card, so I had to search for the ATM nearby.
I was in 2018 and found it by chance strolling. Great. Friendly couple in attendance. Beer and typical food and grade 10. Worth the visit. Detail: it is dated 1479.
Great food
Very cool, authentic medieval German interior. Great schnitzel as well.
Tradition in the heart if Frankfurt
Loved it!!
Best meal we had in Frankfurt. Wonderful atmosphere!
A very old beer house (from 1479 as he writes) with a very nice decoration. The food, at least what I tasted average. Beware this restaurant accepts no cards, only cash!
Lovely location, nicely decorated but relatively small plates and ready made deserts.
Good decoration. Frozen and expensive food. Cash only. Waiter not very good and untrusworthy.
After a long day of working I was seeking for a nice and relaxing place to have dinner. Hence I entered in this restaurant due to the decoration that attracted me. In the end, I was disappointed and I cant even give 2 stars. In and unbelivable way the cons of this place overpass the decoration. Waiter not friendly and agressive. The old man does not know the meaning of politeness. Cash only. Very expensive for the quality (canned mushrooms, frozen fries, awful salad, ...) and ammount of food that they offer. Terrible apple wine (dont try it, trust me). For sure, a place not to repeat
Not stellar, but a good relatively cheap dinner in an historical location.
Had to split the table with another couple with a dog under the table. The food was ok
Im very pleased to have stopped here and will stop again next time I am in Frankfurt. Cozy setting and good comfort food.
Very good, cozy and well located.
Popular with locals and food server quickly however it was average at best. Beer was good
Historical German restaurant!
Amazing decoration, moderate food, a dish served on a broken plate with the excuse of not having any more clean plates to serve food on! Very good beer!
The food is good and the price is honest, nothing special about it but also nothing bad either. The decoration inside is super nice, and the strong beer is also very good. I had a good experience there and would recommend, but stay inside because the decoration is a big part of why i liked it better than others.
I came downtown right from the airport and did not have any cash. I was surprised to find out they accept cash only. Is this a touristic place?
I sat down and ordered a beer, but the lady told me she wasn't going to serve me. She said, "we are just a small restaurant." What?? I was planning on ordering food but instead I went next door to the Wursthaus.
The stuff refused our reservation and they were rude
No credit card available, not good service but not very bad, when you have ordered, all guests could be known what we eat and how many drinks. Because the mid-age old woman who serves loudly and frequently disappeared for smoking. Make sure that, not available credit card.... Taste, refer to the reputation of others, I agree..
Exceptional little place. Great food and atmosphere
Google says they close at 23:00, and we went there at 21:00 for dinner and they said that it was close for new clients....!!
Very good
Lovely spot to sit outdoors and have a meal. Great selection of schnitzel
Meal was sort of OK, but not great for the price. Waiter was not very communicative, you could hardly hear what he was saying. Location of the restaurant was fine.
Rather disappointing. Waiter brought something we didn't order saying they had run out of what we wanted. The food was bad. Soggy outside and dry inside. Save your money and find somewhere else. Only have myself to blame for coming to this tourist trap. The building is beautiful, though.
Great place to eat. Nice and good atmosphere. The frame is very pretty. We loved sauerkraut and goulash.
Lovely location
Reasonably good German food. Service not fast but typical for region. Nice position with a few tables outside on edge of the square. Popular with tourists, menu in English as well as German.
